COOL... Im looking to get my car painted also and I want to change colors...I got a quote from a place called coach works near sports arena in San Diego for 2500 for just the regular stuff and they do a very good job. How much would a job like that cost from Ray(a job like that green six...awsome by the way)

Thanks,
Drue

Thanks Drue. Ray is the mechanic on the project. I had the paint done at Advanced Automotive Refinishing in San Juan Capistrano. I found them on the Pelican board. No one seems to know AAR in OC and LA which is a shame. They do great work and are easy to deal with.

Jeff the owner did most of the work himself and uses Glasurit paint.

If it's just a repaint and no major body or rust work you can get a top quality job for $4 - 6K. The problem is that fewer and fewer places want to do this kind of labor intensive work. So if it needs to be taken down to bare metal fewer shops will be open to the work. Those that are will usually require a wait.

I don't have any experience with the shop you're looking at. Look at some of their recent projects still in the shop to judge their work. $2.5K is a great price if their work is good.
