Not sure if this should go here, but figured it would be the least offensive to the moderators...

We've developed a weld-in 914-6 mount that's similar in design to the Patrick Motorsports mount, but has some improvements with strengthening and angles. I personally run these on both of our cars:
Huey with a stock 3.2 liter
Papa Smurf with a full out 350 hp, 275 lb/ft torque, twin plugged 3.2 liter

No problems, no issues, easily handles the power and makes installing the engine actually really easy!

Price is $375 plus shipping (usually about $25)

Great looking mount, I would recommend (the only reason I went RJ mount was a killer deal). In hindsight, I would buy naro's anyway.

Actually what you don't see (and I should have taken pictures of) is that the bushing slots into the tube on the mount pretty far on either side. they just about touch in the middle.
Need a picture to explain better... Will get one.

Bill, I can answer a few things for you and Bob can tell you why it's better that Patrick's

Porsche's is a single mounting point with one Bolt. It's fine for a Real -6 with a 2.0, but if you get some bigger HP, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Rich Johnson's that has been copied by MadDog is a fixed 2 Point Mount that can be Blted in or Welded

Patrick's like Naro's is a 2 Point Mount, but it's hinged, so you can bring the Motor down to do Valve Adjustments. Bob will tell you the improvements he has made.

Regarding the improvements, we found the Patrick mount needed more support at a few points - both on the weld-to-the-chassis mounts and the engine cradle. We actually used a program from Gibbs Racing - which measures strength and weakness points - to design it.

For example: look at the Patrick pieces that weld (or bolt) to the chassis. See how the connection for the engine cradle is at the END of the mount? On ours, we 'cradle' it, and make the mount a bit bigger and stronger - to add more support.

there are also additional supports on the engine cradle too, just hard to see from the Patrick pictures...

Don't get me wrong, Patrick's mounts are good mounts, we just think we were able to improve on them some and offer them at a lower price.

A couple people have asked about a template for the mount. I will include simple instructions and this diagram, but I thought I would post it here too:

Mounting location is very easy: assemble the mount (bolt the pieces together with all bushings in place) and fit the welding plates into the corner created by the ridges in the firewall sheet metal and the bottom ridge/lip. Mark the location of the weld plates, then disassemble and weld on your plates individually. I would recommend re-checking your location after you're first plate is welded in case you move it a little - just reassemble and make sure your second mount is still aligned.

We tried to design this to make installation as easy as possible. One thing that every mechanic that's worked on the car since it's been installed says is that putting the engine in and out is now REALLY easy - you just raise the engine to the point that the cross member slides in between the chassis mounts and run the bolts through. The engine can be at an angle and still be bolted in, allowing you to then focus on the transmission mounts.

Any idea if these are compatible with a stock 3.6?

One picture you have showing the front pulley looks very close to the engine mounting frame. But I can't see the offset depth (2D photo) so I'm not sure.

Need a mount for my 3.6 street project car.

Also, I'm a little concerned about engine vibration with these bushings. Can you provide any feedback on that? Are you familiar with a polyurethane equivalent I could sub?

I don't see a problem with using the mount for a stock 3.6 liter, but I will be honest and say that we have not done that yet. Dimensionally, it is the same at the Patrick mount that they do use for 3.6 installs, so I would think it would be fine.

You do get some engine vibration felt through the car as yes, the bushings are fairly stiff. The problem with using softer bushings is that the through bolt is basically resting on the bushing, so if it was soft and pliable, it would compress and allow the entire mount to 'sag'...if that makes any sense?

Not quite ready to move ahead yet with the mount as I haven't started the project yet. But I'm very interested in this mount when I'm ready. Probably talk to you again in another two-three months for one.

Unfortunately at this point, I'm going to have to take these off the market for the time being. My fabricator has not been able to make them up for me for the past 6 months, and I was told just last night that it may be a few months more.

Very frustrating....I apologize to anyone that was waiting on one.

They are back into production as of 11/8/15!!
