Where can i read up on the manufacture of 914's by Karmann? Any old documents, pictures or videos showing the chassis being built as it happened?

I thought I found a youtube video that showed some 914 factory stuff, but don't remember where or what search criteria to enter

Found some pix, most we've probably all seen before:

Do we have any pics of the chassis being manufactured prior to painting?

I for one being a lazy sod would prefer to peruse the 914 World by way of the search function than bend my brain with a book written auf Deutsch…

There be good 914 reading in Excellence Was Expected** as well. The first two chapters (21 & 22) in the second book of my three-volume set is all about the 914. Other sources have more info as well of course but that's an important one.

To the original question, there are only two assembly line photos in there... well ok. one is of an engine fitment. The other is wheeling around a tub in the yard. But it's good reading regardless.

Note: This is a pricey set but well worth the money if you're interested in historical stuff of all models. They update it every few years to include new models. I got mine in 2004, but I know there's at least one newer version out by now.

I have a few Porsche history books, haven't looked at them in years. I'll review them for any additional pix and/or info.

Could be true, but I find it hard to believe the factory didn't film any 914 assembly line (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

I have some photos of 914s being assembled and on the factory line. Looking for them (thought they were in a particular folder).
