Yes, I've been working on these for awhile. The fist ones were copies of the best I could find, and not as good as OEM, I made then as cast molds using catalyzed rubber. Sometimes it didn't flow all the way as the pressure required to make these meant that I wound up throwing out about 1/2 of the ones I made. I cheated the formulation to make it flow better and found that didn't work as well.

The only choice was aluminum tooling. It can take the pressure and allow for using a compound that flows and and looks correct.

Well I finally did it. I actually improved the little skinny part on the back edge of the seal so that it actually fills the little void in the indentation on the inside of the door. This is something the OEM current version does, but it's a little loose.

So below is a picture of the OEM and one of my seals. Guess which one is mine.

I'm posting in larger files so you can zoom in on the details.

This is one of the big projects I've been trying to get off my plate for about 18 months.

How do you have time to make all these killer parts???

I still have a set of your last batch that I have not even installed yet...

Let me put those on my car and then I can order the replacements. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) These are awesome Mark! I've been waiting for these to come down in price a little before ordering a set. They'll be on my next round of goodies to order from you for sure. Thanks for all of your hard work.

John

These are the tip of the iceburg. I'm doing a ton of stuff for Stoddard too!
It's how I have been able to afford to make the tooling for this and more new stuff.
