I sold a Steering wheel & hub that was on my 72. The Buyer said there was a Big Gap between the Hub & the Steering Column and there were only a few Threads to get the Nut on. It went on my 72 Fine with plenty of thread. I tod the Buyer I would take it back if we can figure it out.

That does not look like a stock steering wheel going back on? That could be part of it.

What year is his car? That doesn't look like it's seated at all. I've seen gaps, but that's the grand canyon of gaps ...

Have him take a picture of the bare shaft and compare it.
Seems like there may be a shoulder holding things up.

Hi all..... I am the attacher (buyer). Seller is being very patient while I try to make this fit, and has offered to return my $ if it does not fit (nice, T.C..... thank you).

My car is a 1972.

I seated the new hub securely against the stop ring that is at the transition point between threads and smooth shaft. Won't go farther from what I can tell. (note: threads sticking through the shaft is about one inch.... seems right for attaching the nut.)

Any ideas would be helpful.

I have an early stock hub and wheel..... can I modify to make this work??

Cheers.

If I'm not mistaken 72 was a transition year on a lot of items, could be an early/late 72 difference. I know my 72 has a mashup of early/late parts.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

If you mean the style of the bottom of the stock hub? I recall circular/flat. Would rub up against the "springy" part of the steering column (see in pic).

I'm guessing it's the wrong adapter.

There's one for 1973-1976, and another for 1970-1972

Early

Late

Those Adaptors are probably for a MOMO or OMP Wheel. This Steering Wheel's Mounting Holes are a Wider Pattern

Robert & I have talked about this - before he ships it back to me, he is going to Offer it For Sale out there on the West Coast (more of Teener Owners out there). That way someone can try it on to make sure it fits your car.

The Price is $75 for the Wheel/Hub/Horn Button. Please contact Robert (BuddyV)

So wait, is this for an early car or later? I have a friend with a '70 4 cyl. looking for a hub adaptor.

That is a question for the masses as the consensus is 72 was a mix of early and late parts. If you friend is close to Robert & it fits he can get a Great Deal as it's a really nice wheel and Robert has cleaned it up and added new hardware
