I like the silver above (looks like Wurth wheel silver) that Geoff posted best, especially if the "chrome" paint doesn't hold up.

Most of the purists don't like this, but works fine for my driver/track car. FG bumpers and chin spoiler, steel rockers. Black area is Cyano/Rubber truck bed liner (RhinoLiner) rolled on. Really durable and looks good from 10 feet. Do have hard rubber strip between bumper and hood (that's FG too) to protect from little taps, but rarely parked on street.

a guy i know from autox has glass bumpers, he has the orange body, black trim. He painted the bumpers black, and the tops semigloss black, making them look stock.

I learned to love multi-color primer, (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)
She's been this way for years! At times I hope I don't ever finish and cover up the primer. Attached image(s) |

Great thread.
Has anyone tried to replace the steel structure and mounting pistons behind the 75-76 bumper with a fabricated aluminum mount to reduce weight but retain the late-look bumpers? It would probably not retain the same level of shock absorption, but would reduce polar moment considerably. TC |
