Evening Gents,
Sorry if this is not the right place for this - I'm sure you'll put me right. I need some help in learning about a piece of WWII kit I have which was used in the setting up of the turbochargers on B17, B24 and B29 bombers. The background info is that it was made by a company called Rex Cole who were manufacturers/distributors for General Electric refrigerators. It's a big heavy steel box (90 pounds) and opens up to expose a panel full of dials and controls. In the 20 plus years that I've owned it I've only ever found one reference to it anywhere and that was here http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/wwii...equip-469575411 when a Huntington Beach company sold one on ebay. Mine is identical although all the cables and connectors are still wrapped in grease proof paper so it looks like it was never used. The date on the instructions that came with it is 1942. I bought it in an auction in Kettering, Northamptonshire (England !!) which as you may know was an area with many USAF bases during WWII. Does anyone know anything about these please - any help gratefully received. Cheers Andrew |
