There is a little egr box under the passenger foot rest that the cable passes through.

Ah-ha.

There is some sort of relay box under the passenger seat (that appears to have been bypassed), but I don't remember seeing speedo cables running to anything down in the foot well area.

Maybe the PO installed an early cable when they mucked up everything else the car? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

If the EGR box is gone (or not being used), and I need a replacement cable, can I use an early cable? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

The '75 - '76 speedo cable with EGR counter is two cables. One from the tranny to the box and the second from the box to the speedo.

Mark ... just purchase the standard speedo cable that fits a '69 - '74 to eliminate the box.

The routing at the forward firewall will be slightly different.

Cool. The speedo needle dances around, so I think it's time to replace it

Thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
