OK everyone, if you are on the fence and thinking of signing up, you have 1 week to sign up if you want one of the cool and stylish Okteenerfest T-shirts!! September 10 is the LAST DAY until we have to get the shirt count in, so get to it, sign up (and PAY please!!) by SEPTEMBER 10!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)

Just think how uncool you will be without the T-Shirt!

"Yeah, been there, done that...but DIDN'T get the T-Shirt" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

I regrettably can't go (I had everything booked months ago) but would still like a t-shirt and goodie bag! Size Large. Please advise. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I am working out the final details for the shirts and will start a shirt order thread for those who won't make it to the event.

A good loop if you do the dragon is to follow 129 into robbinsville and hit the cherohala skyway back to telico plains/vonore tn. It is 51 miles and it took over ten years to complete. There are over 15 miles above 5000'. The road markers at night are very cool and terminal velocity is possible but not suggested for those not familiar with the corners that tighten in.

On the NC side, the Joyce Kilmer memorial Forrest is the last stand of virgin poplar trees which are about 25' in circumference. You might see a panther if you are stealth.
Also, horseshoe cove is serene.

Past 914 owner and local. I have a 4cylinder but it uses coolant.

Well if you were smart enough to own a 914, stop by and see a bunch of great cars and seriously disturbed current 914 owners.

Last year we ran the Dragon to Moonshiner 28 to Robbinsville and then Cherohala and back to Townsend. Great roads. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif)

Robbinsville seems to have lost all its eating establishments so we altered our route to eat in Bryson. Then on to Cherokee and over the mountain back to Townsend.

Come by and say "Hi" if you get a chance.

It looks like I'll be camping in the area instead of staying at Tally Ho. I had reservations for one of the "Original Eight" rooms at Tally Ho. I was just going to cancel it but if anyone wants it, let me know.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend though. Just have a few small things I'd like to do to the car before its good to go. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I guess I should give it a wash too.

unfortunately I'm also bailing.. Car didn't quite make it as far along as I thought. The mythical beats does exist and even made it out of the garage on my last visit!!.

Its too frustrating to see running 914"s one more time.. I vowed to return this year in MY 914.. Maybe the tropical Ramble ??

Im currently living 850 miles away from my car so extra plane tickets need to be pointed at getting the beast running.

All,, have fun, make some noise and some one else will need to run the camera guy to the top of the damn!!

Attached Image

Just to prove she does exist!!

Too bad you don't live closer to Charlotte. I think John Forbes is looking for people to drive some of his 914's there.

For those with robin leach money, blackberry farm is close. Élkmont or Cades Cove may have camping sights in the park and there is a KOA in Townsend.

I may have gotten it. Just made Tally Ho reservations. Sorry if I budged in line, and glad to have an on site room.
