You can now subscribe to the Okteenerfest email list to have the most up-to-date information sent straight to your inbox (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif)
Quite a few of you have already made your reservations at the Talley Ho Inn (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) Don't wait too long or you may end up staying somewhere down the road (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) We are still working out all the details as far as food, t-shirt, and other included goodies so we don't have an event registration fee figured yet. Hoping to keep it around the same as last year which was $75. Tell all your 914 friends about this event. From the buzz I am hearing, it has the potential to be HUGE (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Nadine and I (and possible Steve) will be doing a scout out for Okteenerfest on the weekend of May 10. We are staying in on of the economy 'Original 8' rooms at the Tally Ho Inn, so we can report back as to what the accommodations are like. Maybe even post some video...
We hope to tie down all the costs in the coming weeks so we can get registration open fairly soon. And remember: YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE AN LE/CAN-AM 914 TO ATTEND!!! This is for ALL years 914's, we just want to gather as many Can Am cars together as possible to celebrate their 40th birthdays!! |

True Story:
28 April 2014 While hovering over and closely observing 6" from our actual, original Constitution of the United States, Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights with my brother at the National Archives in Washington DC, my phone rings. It's my little cousin John in Grosse Point (Detroit). Me: "Hey buddy! How are you? My brother just told me last night you got engaged! Congratulations!" John: "Yeah! Thanks man! That's actually why I was calling you! I would be so honored if you came to the wedding! I really want you to be there!" Me: "Of course! I'll definitely be there for you! Any idea when it will be?" John: "Yeah, actually we have a date set - September 26." ... Me: "Uh...actually I have something on September 26." My bother: "Shut up. You don't have something on September 26. That's like 5 months from now." Me: "Actually, I do. It's that big 914 event I invited you to come to in the Smokey Mountains. It's the 40th anniversary of my car the LE Can Am. They're extremely rare to begin with and there's only a handful left in the world and they're trying to get as many possible left in the country to come." (Deep breath) Me: "Don't worry, John. I wouldn't miss it. I'll definitely be there and really looking forward to it, buddy." So... unless someone has come up with a way to teleport me and my car, I guess there will be one less Creamer at Okteenerfest. I've been looking forward to this since last year, especially with the 40th anniversary. I'm really dying to go, but family first. I hate that I'm going to miss this and seeing you guys and other Can Ams together. Sad to say, it looks like me and 'Valentine' won't be able to make it (again). I wish Okteenerfest was in Oktober. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) With that said, if the Talley Ho Lodge is booked up, there will be another room available soon as I'll (with much reluctance and regret) have to cancel my reservation. I'm going to try to see if there's anyway I can do both, but it's highly unlikely. I'd still like to get a Can Am t-shirt if possible. Even though I can't go. Maybe I can buy just the shirt without registering since I can't go? Please let me know. Sorry again, guys. Valentine and I will miss you. |

Bummer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
Come on up to the Smokies any time and we'll go driving. And, yeah, you can get a shirt without attending. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Hmmm....go to a wedding that you'll have to go all the way up to Detroit for, just to sit around, be nice, spend time with family, do the macarana and chicken dance, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dancinnanner.gif)
or... come up to the Smoky Mountains, party, drive one of the most famous roads in the world, hang out with like-minded nut cases, party, mingle with celebrities, see some one-of-a-kind 914's, compete for highly coveted Okteenerfest prizes, not have to explain to everyone what type of car Valentine is, etc. etc. etc... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/creamsicle914.jpg) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Just sayin.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) |

I know, I know. Believe me, I know. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)
But these are my favorite cousins and it's the most important day of his life (John's on the left). It's an honor to be there for him. I love these guys. They're the best. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) (Them visiting us in FL) |
