Would someone who has this tool want to take measures of the input and drive shaft punches for me? I have access to a lathe and can get them made up. Porsche wants $261.88 for this tool set. My transmission is on my priority list, but this particular tool isn't. Besides... I wouldn't want to hit a special order tool like this with a hammer anyways.

Are you planning on replacing the bearing races? I would not buy or make this tool unless you know you need it.

What are your plans for your transmission/914?

Red Beard, drive shaft race is fine but the pinion race is pretty well worn. I'm waiting on a few body parts so in the mean time I'm going through my transmission.

You can get a tool in the aftermarket for bearing races. I have one that I put my front wheel races into the rotors.
