That the BP race at the RunOffs. Don't try taking the inside line on a 944. |

You're right it is the GT-2 race. I knew it was wrong when I wrote it. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif) |

Here's me up on 2 wheels at the Marina Airport Auto-x in Monterey last year (The one Randal was referring to). Birgit took the pic. I could see everyone running away from the car as it went up on two wheels at the end of a high speed section into a hairpin. I even remember Birgit down on one knee to snap the shot.
The 911 guys said that you can't get a 914 up on two wheels at an auto-x, it would spin out first. I was running 375lbs rear springs, 23mm front torsion bars, a 27mm Smart Racing adjustable bar up front, and a stock rear bar connected. I had an open diff at the time and was running 23x9x15 Gooyear Cantilever slicks R210 compound (man...I miss that compound!) It was a warm day and Rich Walton of JWE and I were going head to head with our final 3 runs back to back. The folks in the Loma Prieta Region were nice enough to let us run against each other with hot tires since I believe we were something like 1.5 seconds in front of the 3rd place car. Warm slicks with a nice warm, grippy service.....yep....you can get it on two wheels at an auto-x! To this day, that's the most fun I've had at an auto-x! Bill P. Attached image(s) |

Bill I have some video footage of your old car running at the Zone 7 a/x in Reno last year.
You were on two wheels there too. Good Spin footage as well (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) KT |
