Hate to break it to ya, but that's a V8. You might be thinking of a Testarossa, it's a Flat 12. |

Ah, Cap'n Rice speaks.... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)
The 06 weighs 3150. What does that fatback Mustang weigh? A stocker comes in about 3450. |

ah, new rustang.
Saw a white one last week. Of course it had a teenage girl driving it, talking on her cell phone, then wrapping it around a concrete light pole. fitting end. |

Look at the link. Tuneable to 500 hp from just 5 litres, not 7. Any car that has an OPTIONAL passenger seat is alright by me! This particular article doesn't mention the weight, but it's obviously a LOT lighter than the base model. 'Bout as rice as the Vette, as I see it ................................ The Cap'n |

It's a V-10 "concept car".....sure, kinda cool..... the motor is a 4.6L with 2 more clys....you do the math. That's a mighty ricey wing. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) It'll never even limited production.
Now, had you said the Ford GT, you'd get no argument from me. It's a real live car....like the Z06 but I "might" be able to afford the Vette. |

My father worked in an automobile stamping plant (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smash.gif) , and in the early 60's one of the guys bought a VW Beetle, first foreign car in a UAW shop (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/spank.gif) Started talking about the great gas mileage he would get (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif) ... For the first six or eight weeks he had it, the other guys went out a lunch and put gas into his car. Harvey |

Corvette... A plastic Penis for those who don't have enough of the real thing.
Lately I have heard one called "Fiberglass viagra". Anyone want to buy a Rec 74 Corvette with an L82 and automatic transmission? I got one for sale. I am sick of the pig taking up a space in my garage that could be put to better use. |

Have to agree with the Capt'n I'm not a big fan of 'murican iron (or f/g (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)) but that Mustang GT-R sure looks cool Actually, I like a lot about Fords recent sport designs |

The new Vettes are pure performance, these things fly. They lack the fit and finish, they rattle, they are cheaply put together in comparison to new Porsches but cost a fraction.
I'd like to have one, but I sat in one and i didn't fit. That killed it for me. I'd drive a yugo before I allowed a mustang of any kind to park in my driveway but that's just me. I absolutely hate mustangs, and fords for that matter. I've owned two fords in my life (one mustang, one ranger, both total POS) and will absolutely never, ever, no matter what ever own another ford or allow an immediate family member to own or drive one. My boss has a Shelby 350 set up for SCCA and i have to bite my tongue every time he talks about it. Not sure why I hate em so much, just one of those things I guess. |

All very interesting. I love cars, and pretty much anything else that runs on dead dinosaurs. Yugo? You bet. Let's get 2 and race 'em. Corvette? Mustang? Big 'murican truck with big mf'n tires? Taildragger? Viper? Huge RV with jacuzzi? One of them funny eyetalian cars than ends in 'I'? MV Agusta (OK, will settle for a Duck)? How 'bout the new V series from Cadillac?
I wouldn't throw any of them out of my garage. Now all I need is a bigger garage and lots more $$. Any of you guys want to donate any to my collection? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Attached image(s) |

Vette's just seem too big for my tastes. I rode in an 85' once, rattled worse than any 914 I have ever been in. Rode in a ZR1 once, quick car, felt heavy though. Rode in an 81' once, same thing, rattles, heavy and this one was underpowered. Some of them look nice and some don't. Too big for a sports car. More of a GT car IMHO. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) Wouldn't buy one and if one was given to me, I would sell it before even driving it. If I'm not mistaken, its got a crammer in it. That engine puts out some serious power (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) Ford's specialty cars team put one in a focus hatchback a few months ago (that had been converted from a 4cyl front wheel drive auto to an 500hp 6 speed rear wheel drive) Some car mag tested it against a lambo and it was just as fast. Insane engine. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) Personally I think Fords on a role with product development. Hopefully they can continue it. |

The new (2005) vette is actually lighter and shorter than a new Porsche 997, The roof on the vette is slightly lower too!

If that's true...... Before, I just wanted one....now I *need* one (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) I run against the current Z06s all the time at SCCA AXs. I whupp those (apparently) short of manhood regularly, but those few that are "adequate" kick my ass....and all the other Porsches in this area. |
