I decided after years of sitting in the garage to get the 911 my dad gave me going again. Well to make a long story short the engine seems to be LOCKED UP, FROZE however you wanna say it, the damn thing won't turn over! I'm so pissed!! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mad.gif) DAMN DAMN DAMN and to think I was planning on taking it to the WCC. I can't even see straight I'm so mad. ok ok deep breaths. Nah I still don't feel any better. Well it looks like I'm gonna be pulling the thing down. I am gonna head on down to the book store and pick up whats his faces book from pelican or maybe just get drunk. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif)

Dude slow down put rust off oil in all the cylinders and let them soak for some days
then try to hand turn the motor.

Pull the plugs, fill cylinders with diesel fuel (the ones that will hold the liquid), let set for 3 days, then try to turn it.

If you could pull the engine and bolt a bar across the flywheel, you might break it free.

Take your drain plug out and drain all the fluids from the engine--take out all the sparkplugs and leave them out--and I agree, fill each cylinder one at a time with a good solvent-something that will break up carbon. Purpose of doing one cylinder at a time --when you fill the cylinder with solvent, if it is ok--the solvent will run out and drip out the drain plug.( this may be slow or fast-depending on if your rings are stuck in the grooves and not sealing well) Do this until you find the cylinder (s) that are plugged up--then let the solvent sit for a couple of days--when you can see in the plug opening that it has reduced--fill it again--and gingerly turn the crank a litle at a time in the direction of normal rotation --you may have to bump the breaker bar handle firmly with your hand--don't just bear down on the handle with all your might--BUMP it--this goes along way to freeing things up well--good luck!! Marvel Mystery oil!!

Fill the entire case with it as well as the cylinders.

A mix of Marvel and Dexron/ Mercon auto tranny fuid has saved many on this end!

The stuff is a mystery!


I once saved a VW engine that had been locked for 10 years with the stuff.. Took about 3 weeks of "Pickling" to straighten it out....

As soon as she fires up, take it out and give it hell to free it up :-)

The car is a Sportomatic and I tried turning it over at the crank. It must of just happened cause I was able to turn it over about six months ago. I've calmed down, home brewed Portuguese wine helps. Imagine that a teener at a 914 event. Damn

How about we just race to see who's car hits the road first. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) That took me 3 months of body work to get it that way, and that was hours every day too. I just never finished it up to drive. I think I got burnt out, but just recently was motivated again till this happened. I'm still motivated, but man this sux.
