All aftermarket cams or special grinds all seem to require a bolt on cam gear.

So I'm wondering what the difference is between the stock cam gear and the aftermarkets ones that are !NOT! a straight cut gears?

I suppose the real root of this question is if I could grind off or dill out the rivets on a stock gear and bolt that gear onto an aftermarket cam.

Thanks!

According to oil pump selection you **can**...

But ONLY do it if your gear has a "C" suffix part# and is aluminum. alot of the cam gears were magnesium with a "B" suffix and they suck, they strip all the time....

I highley recommend updating to the 30mm TI pump and a new, modified cam gear (for oil pump clearance)while its apart.

The stock pump sucks.

Jake, when you say... "oil pump selection" what do you mean?

What is this cam gear mod for oil pump clearance? (I've included a pic of what I have)

Do you know where I can get one of those 30mm pumps?

Thanks!

What are these modifications for? Any ideas?

That smoked journal is the very first one to run out of oil! Thats why you need a modified pump upgrade.

I have the cam, modified gear and pump that you need.
