Thanks for taking all the pictures Joe and Jodi. I forgot my charger so I was out of the photo business for the weekend but my son was shooting a lot so I will post what he sends me.

You got some good shots.

Paul, Bob, and I did. Bob and I were virgins. We both rode with an instructor, Bob half the time, me every run. We both found it difficult to recognize the turn placements with enough time to properly set up for them. To me, they were Egyptian hieroglyphics. I swear, even after 6 runs, I don't think I could have drawn the course accurately on a piece of paper. During my runs, the instructor would shout at me, "Give it gas, give it gas." I'd yell back, "It's a 1.8, there ain't no more gas."

I think Paul hand his hands full keeping his beast on a leash. With so much power, it's a different animal.

I've only done it once. My experience was the same as yours. I only had one run count - the last one I ran that day. Should get easier with practice - but then I took the car apart again....

Did you have fun though? I bet you had fun.

I think I can speak for everyone, yeah, tons of fun.

It also was a pleasure for Linda and I to meet so many great and talented people. We will be attending next year.

I will post more pics from another camera tomorrow.

I was one of the folks who put on the AX. It was great to see so many teeners. I liked the LS1 - nice looking paint and body. My DE ride is not ready after an accident at Mid-Ohio so I could not bring it to the Swap or the AX. I decided to pick up a send 914 which will be streetable ( '73 Black stock 1.7 w/ single 2 barrel ). So next year one way or another I'll be there.

Let me ask you something. If the Swap AX would the weekend before or after the swap would you come? I had a lot of people complaining that it was Easter Sunday. Unfortunately Hershey Park tells us what dates we can have (always a Holiday it seems like) I suspect if we scheduled not the same weekend as the swap no out of towners would come.

BTW e have two more AX's this spring. May 4th and May 11th ( Mother's Day (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) ). If you want to come to either of them preregister at motorsportreg.com PCA members who preregister online only pay $30.

Oh - a piece of advice. Novices should walk the course as many times as possible ( at least 3 ) and always take advantage of novice walkthroughs and instructor ride alongs. And when you walk walk by yourself. Its too easy to lose focus and get into a conversation. During your walk look for key cones, and ask yourself "when I am here, where should I be looking at?"

Regards,
Alan

Thanks for hosting a great Autox event and for the kind words about the LS6 914. Are results posted somewhere? I too was happy to see more teeners at the Autox this year. I am hopeful we can get more interest from this group of teeners in the future. It is too much work and too far for me to get to the Autox any weekend other than the Hershey Swap weekend.

Paul

Alan -

I know a lot of folks that did not attend Hershey this year, and the next time that Hershey and Easter coincide I wont be attending either. Which would suck, as I look forward to it all year. Why don't you plan for the event around Easter instead of during it?

Don't do the AX on Easter. Or Mothers Day. I caught relative hell for even going to Hershey on Easter weekend, and ended up having to go home Sat night instead of staying Sunday for the AX.

For single guys its probably just another day, but for married guys and fathers - events on "important" holidays builds strife with family.

For Hershey, we expect the AX to be the Sunday after. It would be a LOT better if the event was simply planned around Easter.
