Hi All,

Just did the engine mounts and am in the process of doing the transmission mounts.

I seem to have additional parts on my mount that I do not see in the standard diagrams. I also notice that the long bolts on mine were inserted from the top rather than up from the bottom as shown in the diagram.

The small serated washer was at the top of the bolt head when it was inserted opposite from shown in photo. The other mystery washer sitting next to the assembly is rather thick and is cupped as if it might somehow sit over the mount. Should it even be there and, if so, where?

Any ideas or insight? Thanks.

Mystery washer not needed.
Bolt normally goes in from the top with the nut in the bottom.

As delivered from the factory the long bolts were inserted from the top.
That original arrangement makes engine/trans removal/ install a real PITA.
By now it's unusual to find them still that way.
Those cupped washers ?.....out.

The schnoor washer (serrated tiny washer) and the lock nut are sort of redundant

Interesting you say they're installed from the top when the factory parts diagram accompanying your comment clearly shows them installed from the bottom.

Up or down ... does it really make a difference? If it comes loose, mounted from the top, at least the bolt won't fall out on the ground. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif)

The other responders are more mechanics than I am and maybe follow their advice/recommendations but ... I installed the bolt according to the factory diagram. When I drop the engine/trans, I unfasten the 13mm bolt-washer-nut (#41, 42, 43 in your diagram). They are also hard to get to. Not to nit-pick and not meant to be a criticism, just an observation: The cupped washer (#37) in your pic is actually a washer for an early engine mount bar (70-72). The notch is to clear the bar. #37 for a late car/trans mount is same shape/profile with no cut out/notch. It won't make a difference in actual use as you've already run with it.
