Came across a few vacuum advance units while searching for other parts tonight. I think these are 914 vacuum units but am not sure. The only number I see on them is the number on the actuator arm.

Each of these units has two nipples and an adjustment screw.

One unit has 917 on the actuator arm.

Other unit has 979 on the actuator arm.

Can anyone tell me what distributors these go to? TIA

I have a spare 039 905 205A dizzy and it has the 979 # on the vacuum can. I don't have any documentation on those part numbers to back up that it's correct though. It does have the adjustment screw on the can. The vacuum can on my car now is from
a 039 905 205 -- no adjustment screw on that one. I'm not near my car now so I can't check but maybe someone else will chime in.

I no longer have a copy of the old Bosch book that contains the list with the long numbers. Slits may have one. The digits you report are the last 3 digits of a 10 digit number (x xxx xxx xxx).

917 = '72 - '73 VW 412 1.7E according to Bosch ESI. Part number is 1 237 121 917 which is discontinued and replaced by 1 237 122 601. Other part number is Bosch 07109. This unit was also listed for a '73 914.

(1 237 121) 979 = does not come up in the literature

For the 2.0L engines:
'73 - '74 Distributor 0 231 174 009 = Part Number is 1 237 122 601 or 07140

'75 - '76 Distributor 0 231 174 011 = Part Number is 1 237 121 603 or 07128

That is all I have

According to Brad Anders site: http://members.rennlist.com/pbanders/DJetParts.htm
That # dizzy was a 1.7 70-73 MY unit and also indicates it was used on 73 Type 4's.
SLITS may have a more concise listing in his documents. Jon
