Ok, I'm not off to a good start here. I accedentally lost the battery that I took out of the car last night...and have no idea what I need to buy to replace it. (Don't ask...long night.)
Is there a specific size I need to look for? Gel battery or Water? |

450 -475 cold cranking amps should be enough. Smaller is better in my opinion but I live in a warm climate and don't require them power to crank a low compression motor.
I am still researching the Oddessey lead tin batteries. 13 lbs |

I think you are aksing about the size of the battery for which a group 42 is the correct size.
But don't buy a regular battery. Go buy a Optima gel one (They actually aren't gell anymore). Better, no more acid to eat your paint away. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) |

I recently replaced mine with an Optima model #35, for me the #35r (reversed terminals) would not work [72' 1.7 bone stock]. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool_shades.gif)
I read somewhere {here actually} (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif) that the 35r was the model to buy and I purchased one at A Zone for the princely sum of $109.00. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/unsure.gif) Wrong battery, they don't have a 35, "do they make a 35?", yadA, YADA, yada. I purchased a #35 from Sunbelt Battery here in Phoenix for $95.00, trade discount. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) I stll have yet to return the #35r to "no service havin' " A Zone. There is a local battery store in town I buy my batteries from. When I have gone in, always get the Optima ($99.99) and just grab one off the shelf. Bought for 2 914's and my wifes Jeep. Never had a problem with fit, never even looked at what group number I bought. Just made sure the terminals were on the correct side. Maybe I have just been lucky, but they have all fit/worked just fine. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) Best $100 I spent on a 914 for sure.
