Now look into all the cool extensions you can add. Tools-->Extensions--->GetMoreExtensions (takes you to a mozilla website where you can lookup and install extensions you like on-the-fly) I use: CopyPlainText (copy from text from webpages and paste without funky html formatting) Nuke Anything (click away banner ads and anoying objects you don't want to see or print) Paste and Go (copy a URL, then in the go-bar you can "paste and go" to load in a single click) ieView (Some websites SUCK and don't follow HTML rules. Lets you open a page in IE if needed) Gmail Notifier (let's you know if your gmail account has new mail - open it with a click) Allow Right Click (let's you "save image as" even when the webpage tries to block you) Single Window (helps with tabbed browsing. Events opening a new window open a new tab instead) Dictionary Search (right click on any text to look up a definition) -Ben M. |

For clarification.....is it just the Russian ones we should be watching out for...? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/huh.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) There's no way I would connect to a broadband network without at least a software firewall. I always suggest a hardware firewall if its for a person's primary connection (like at home or in a dorm) My brother was on his school's network without either and brought his computer to me complaining that it was too slow. Adaware found more than 800 bad things on it. Spybot found 80 other items Adaware didn't find. Plus Norton said there were two trojans. It took me forever to clean that computer up. (He didn't want to wipe it due to it having a lot of school projects (commercial design/graphic arts) on it.) I got him a $30 linksys router on sale and he's had ZERO problems since. Software firewalls work well too, but they do take system resources. You probably won't even notice though. |
