She's fine. Has a nanny gig & they need her that weekend. She's excited as she will have their newborn through the whole weekend. Should be an eye opening experience for her (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) . She is flying out to Oregon about a week before. So I get to spend time with her & then drive her home on my way. So my trip is still justified as I need to take her home (IMG:style_emoticons/default/evilgrin.gif) . I told her Mary would be dissapointed & she said awww... she's so sweet

Glad she is well - she is smart to take the money while she can!

Yeah no complaints from me. The more she earns before school starts. The less it costs me. I'm still hoping the family changes their plans & she can go. Just doubtful it will happen (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) .

Roadway Inn about 0.5 miles north of Virginian has availability for $139-159.
Best Western Canyonlands about 0.25 miles north has availability around $201 with AAA.

Just tossing out options.

I booked a site in the Up the Creek Campground. $25/night 1-person $35 2-people. Amenities include picnic table, showers and even flush toilets. It's right in town.

Don't know if anything else is planned in Moab for events that would drive up motel prices, but the Apache isn't pricey and still pretty close to downtown. Usually doesn't fill up unless there's something big happening in town.

Looks like we make take the camper down. We would have three extra bunks...if there are <hint>three hot chicks</hint> that would share with Val and I.....

Canyonlands RV Resort is .4 miles away. $130 for the weekend. I guess we will be there! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

This is the only event I see listed for that weekend:

Thu-Sat 11-13 Canyonlands National Park 50th Anniversary Celebration - The Canyonlands 50th Anniversary will be a yearlong event that will culminate in mid-September, 2014. There will a variety of events through out the year with a main event the weekend of September 11th, 12th, & 13th. During this time there will be an historic film festival, a dutch oven community dinner, historic displays at the Museum of Moab, an art show at the MARC with a rededication ceremony at the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. For more info visit bateswilson.org or call 435-259-0108.

That could do it- Moab ain't real big and it fills up fast if there's anything going on in the area. We'z gonna have company!

Picked my loaner motor yesterday, got my 2.7 partially tore down and on an engine stand. Got the loaner out of the truck and onto the rolling table.

Attached Image

Today I'll start installing the clutch, transmission and starter and getting it ready to install, should be ready to go into the car by Friday then .........we'll see, maybe running by next weekend.

I might just make it.

Talked to Kelly. Sounds like he is coming. And he has a GF... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Anyone that has to cancel post here. Kelly will need a room and I would like to get out of the smoking room in Moab. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
