QUOTE(SirAndy @ May 30 2003, 02:06 PM) QUOTE(Jeroen @ May 30 2003, 12:01 PM) yeah, but that doesn't prohibit you from using the name Carrera. you just can't use their Carrera Logo. they don't "own" the name but rather the have a trademark for their distinct logo ... Andy Actually, check out this page. It even has legal correspondence from Porsche's legal eagles. CyberSquatting You can use the words Porsche and Carrera as long as it has nothing at all to do with Porsche autos. (ie. jewelry is sufficiently separated from Porsche autos so as to cause no confusion) And, as is always the case, the law favors those with the most money and or lawyers. They have legal precedent already set that any use of any of their trademarks in a similar field (autos or racing for example) is prohibited. So according to the law (according to the explanation on the page linked to above), they do in fact own the name itself as long as it is used in the field in which they have trademarked it. Scary, isn't it? |

EASY solution.
The spanish word for race is "La Carerra". So use that. Be sure to use Babel to translate some of your site into spanish. Come cut off my arm, you German shysters! Attached image(s) |

hey guys, don't get too caught up on the url for the webpage. That is only a small part of the overall plan.
Just finding a name that really works is A#1 most important thing at this point. |

Some good idea's coming in.
This will primarily be for the US market..so easy spelling is best. I like Zuffenhausen.. but its too long and covers a very broad range. B |
