Problems usually start from battery acid.
So start looking from the battery down.
The side panel the battery is welded to
The engine shelf, engine mount and suspension console under the battery
The area where these shelves attach to the rear firewall
Then the acid continues to eat down through the long on the passenger
side behind the jack plate.

Do your doors close easily? are your door gaps equal?

hi,

I have just dropped the engine so I could deal with it out of the car.

change heat exchangers, push rod tube seals, stuff like that. plus whatever

comes up that I will discover.

I need to do some hell hole welding too.

seemed like it would be a lot easier to do the repairs without the engine in

place.

even using a flame thrower, the cheese head screw/bolts are no fun to remove.

the ones that are tin to tin are not too bad.... the ones into the case take a

lot more time with the flame thrower.

I am learning as I go........mostly with the help of folks here helping me.

have fun with the process........ I am

randal

Yes. Pull the engine and see just how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Something sturdy must be holding the battery up. Not brave/foolish enough to pull the battery to look. Maybe some sort of anti-gravity device that will stop working if you look at it. Not worth the risk…

Looks like your engine is already half way out? Is this gap consistant all the way around?
