Did Karmann just throw any old colored dash into the car when these were built and spray the front black? My sunflower yellow car has an olympic blue dash, and while I'm not sure it wasn't replaced at some time, I've seen other cars that are green exterior with red dash, etc. Seems weird to me.

The rare occurrence is when the dash color actually matches the body color. It did happen, but not that often...
