anyone seen an electric conversion for a 914 ....... saw an electric motor where a 1.7 use to be about 12 years ago and wondered if the thing caught on. the owner said it would do 70 mph for about 150 miles then recharge and go again. thought might be fun for projectevilgrin: ???? anyone from central cal out there? : (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif)

our very own Otmar (Palo Alto) is drag-racing his electric 914 (with a lot of success i might add)

something like 1500 lbs of torque on full-juice. at 0 (yes, zero) rpm, mind you ...
930 gearbox, using only 1 gear. (no need to shift). that car is a blast!

makes for some spectacular tire smoking ...
