Met a couple at Portland Cars & Coffee yesterday that have a 914-6 being restored in Chicago. It was her fathers car. They have all documentation since new.
I let them know that this the group of folks that can answer any questions they might have. Hopefully they'll read this thread and introduce themselves. I drove my RS replica to the event. But I was walking around a restored 73 914 explaining to another person where to look for rust. They walked up and said that's all the spots they had repaired on their car. That's where we started our conversation. ( I know, I should jot down the VIN's) You could tell by the twinkle in her eyes. Even though it had been many years since she'd ridden or driven the car. She was one of us. |
