How much could I expect to budget for annual insurance on a 914. High side / low side.

I know there are many variables that would affect the price. I am just looking for a ballpark.

Too many variables.....age, driving record, full coverage versus laibility only, teenagers in the house, yada yada yada....

If you are older and have another everyday driver, try Haggerty Vintage Insurance.

Or, call your current insurance agent. They can give you a quote in about 5 minutes.

I second both coments above... call you ins. agent and call hagerty... a buddy of mine uses Hagerty for his ghia and saves about $400/year that way...

I'll be using hagerty when I get mine on the road again...

you do need a garage and the 914 shouldn't be a daily driver for Hagarty though... they even ask for proof hat you have another car insured as a daily driver

I got a great quote from Mark Moody, who is a member here. Give him a call at 415-892-5289. I'm not sure if he can provide coverage in your area, but he should be able to point you in the right direction at least.

Haggerty has some limitations to include vehicles that see "off road use" Wonder if that includes Autocross

do you suppose they have a miles per year limit. I have a daily driver that would qualify as my daily driver, but heck, I would buy a 914 to drive practically all summer and any nice day.... isn't that the point.

they don't ask for proof of how much you drive per year... and you are allowed to drive it to shows etc... it's not like they would know what miles were from what...

hagerty will insure racers, but you have to tell them you are going to use it for auto-x... but it's not like they would know...

I think Seanery has Hagerty too

I have Haggerty also and yes I AX my car. While I am on the "track / course" I am not covered but I have coverage everyplace else. Can't remember my yearly rate,I think $246, I do know I have 5k year in alotted miles and $9500 insured value. I drive my 914 when ever I can but I don't come close to the 5k miles a year, usually just about 3500.

Oh, and they don't like you taking your car to work & store. That is fine with me since I work from home and usually I just go for a drive or 914 breakfast or SCCA meeting / events.

I use the "silver wheels plan". They insure you for the value of the car over 25 years old, not the type of car.
@ $17K appraised value, I pay about $165/year for full coverage.
Cheap Insurance
