Looking to buy a set of renegade rear axles with CV joints for a V8 application. Having a bit of sticker shock at $700 for a new set. Anyone have a decent pair at a decent price?

ScatVW makes heavy duty axles, $100 per side.

Shoot them an email and see if they would work. They are very good about getting back to you.

If you use a subie trans check out (the best way to go for availability & cheap spares)

http://www.coldwater914.com/hybrid-axle-375/

Hybrid Axle $375
These custom, 4340 alloy, Sway-A-Way axles bridge the gap between the Subaru transmission and the 914 hubs. With Subaru splines on inside the axle will fit 02-04 OEM wrx 5mt DOJs (which will slide on to most any subaru transmission). While on the outside Sway-A-Way’s signature free floating splines accept both the 914 and 944 CV joint.

To order please email me at ian@coldwater914.com
