what would you consider as a correct "1971 914-6 rear bumper" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

sharp edge, or the round one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

The squire one is what I'm looking for. I think that is the correct one for a 1971 914-6

To me this looks like the early rear bumper with the sharp edge around the license plate area but someone added bumperettes to it. Could be a good candidate for re-chroming: http://www.ebay.com/itm/70-71-72-73-PORSCH...314&vxp=mtr

not entirely sure ... early MY'71 914-6 might have the early style bumper
but later ones should have the "round" version

unfortunately nobody could ever tell us, when the factory switched
and your car is somewhere in the middle of MY'71 ...

Dave,

I have a 1970-71 rear bumper (sharp edges) that might interest you.

My initial plan was to restore this bumper and use on my 1971 restoration project but have decided to go in a complete different direction and have no use for this bumper.

The bumper is in good condition (very little surface rust) and has one small dent on the right hand side (corner) and another small dent on the left hand side (directly below the rubber bumper top). Both dents should be repairable but chrome will need to be refinished as it is rough.

Should you be interested, I live in Walnut, CA which is approximately 20-25 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.

I can forward you pics or can arrange to meet in person.

Best Regards,

Raul Paz

I have a rechromed, early/sharp edge bumper that I bought a few years ago, to use on my 6
Plans changed....I am going fiberglas for an attempt at a GlT tribute.....longstory and longer project.

Anyway, I expect that I will sell it....only thing holding me back is keeping it as a spare for my other car, if it gets pronged at the rear.

Bumper has absolutely fresh chrome, never mounted after rechroming....It DID, and does ,have the smallest of an indent on one of the corners...it was sold to me that way, I was forewarned...it is so small that I figured that when it came time to mount it on the car, I would get a dentless repair guy to smooth it out from the back, it is that small, and the metal on these bumpers is that thin

Anyway, if you ore anyone else is interested, I can see if my buddy, at whose shop it has been sitting and collecting dust, can take some pics and send to your email, if you provide.

All the best with the hunt

Paul
