The rain tray on my early '73 was cracked, hanging down, and missing most hardware. I have a new fibeglass tray from Mark but the parts catalog seems to only show the late tray mounting. Did the early tray have any kind of spacers to increase the gap between the tray and the lid at the rear edge? Should the straps at the front hold the tray tight against the lid's bracing?

Thanks for any info you can provide.
