This thing is such a piece of art, just beautiful. To know that it ruled the competition is a nice addition. I appreciate all of the pictures in their for sale ad. Cars like this and the Ferrari P4, GT40 etc. make me wish I could suddenly come into ridiculous money.

I assume this is a real 917 and not a replica? What a glorious piece of engineering, and history! I wasn't aware that they had to carry a spare tire, and those tires are a lot of rubber on the ground! There must be some interesting shift linkage hidden under there.

I never realized just how small they actually were. Seeing it in relation to the kids really put it in perspective.

In case it's not enough, here he is driving his own 917K (either that or he swapped numbers before listing the #2 car):

and here he is test-driving a customer's on public roads:

I guess I need to buy a lottery ticket on the way to Octeenerfest and keep my fingers crossed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Megamillions is up to 93 million / 54 million cash option. I hope Bruce is willing to negotiate.

I completely agree... noticed that instantly, especially since that other recent thread of members kids in 914's made the teeners look big. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
