I currently run a 2 in 2 out Magnaflow. Sounds really nice!
(Ugh! note dents on the pass side elbow! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hissyfit.gif) don't ask)I was never very happy with the 2 out configuration.. I daydreamed about one fat outlet, drivers side, nice and semi hidden..(just past the valence) I do like dual 6 exhausts, the ones kinda inline with the 6 headers. They look pretty cool. I can replicate that no sweat. I think that config looks best sans valence. The plan is this so far. 2 of these: Done in a 2in/1 out. Cans run where the muffler would run, tied together with a sweeping short tee and one fat 3" outlet, drivers side. No valance. Your pictures of some cool exhaust setups and your 2 cents are welcome on this. Dual outs? Single? Valence? No Valence? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

How does the down tube clear the axle? I run mine under the axle. Just have to keep it pulled in slightly takes the inboard CV the clear axle swing when jacking up the car.

the only thing I would change from that set up would be to add electric cutouts it the straight sections before the doglegs into the muffler that comes out along side the muffled tail pipes.
then wire it up to a micro switch that opens the cutouts at half throttle! |

Ive never liked the sound of any of the magnaflow stuff. Very helpful. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Must be a flowmaster guy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) How does the down tube clear the axle? I run mine under the axle. Just have to keep it pulled in slightly takes the inboard CV the clear axle swing when jacking up the car. Rick, its tough to see from the angle but I went above the shaft, no issues tons of clearance. Been rolling this for a couple years. That looks bad ass as-is. What's it sound like? It sounds really nice... At idle its super mellow, when you get on it it sounds mean! No rasp, no drone, just throaty and smooth. I' ll post some pics as I roll along with the new stuff. So far its keeping the valance Single out, 3" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chowtime.gif) |

Hey thanks Alien Overlord! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/assimilate.gif) what sound are you shooting for? those shorties will be really LOUD! like race car loud (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) Possibly.. I do plan to tie the little bastards together and have a single outlet.. This will be more lineal footage than I run now. My current exhaust is really short front to back, and is actually pretty quiet! Surprisingly so. Heck, I plan on keeping my current valance and exhaust setup just in case.. Its all for kicks any way so we shall see! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Ill take some decent video of each(sound) so I can compare. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Cheers! |

Magnaflows are what the SVX guys use to quiet the EG33 down. The difference is pretty amazing. Definitely one of the quietest mufflers out there while still maintaining the nice growl when you hammer it. The stock subaru 3-chambered exhaust is deafening and has a nasty drone. How it passed quality control is a mystery to me.
