I am backdating my bumpers on my '76. I had found a link on where to drill the holes on the back of the car but I lost the link. Does anyone have dimensions or possibly know the link to the tech page I am speaking of? Thanks much Markā¦..

Wow...we're coming up on 8 years since James (Lapuwali) shows he logged in. Oct 19th, 2006 (I think we actually lost him in August). I miss that guy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) .

Sorry for the hijack, but the you're all set with Ken's instructions. Actually, no, you're not. Ken's thread is very good, I used it, but found that following his dimensions for the rear bumper mounting holes would have put mine off by 1/4" or so. Must have something to do with factory tolerances. Instead, I left the rear valence in place and allowed it to dictate the location of the bumper. Should you doubt it, do a mock up and don't drill any holes till you're satisfied with the bumper's location. Then attach the dog bones to the bumper mounts with spray adhesive, and use the little sleeves with marking grease to show where to drill. I have pics somewhere, maybe in the What I did today thread... Lest you question my technique, I'd be more than happy to show you pics of my rear end... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bootyshake.gif) |
