I love the look of the Mega-phone exhausts with "cookiecutter" ends that were used on many Porsche race cars including 914/6 GTs. But since mine will be an everyday driver primarily, are they too loud for the street? Who sells these besides GT Racing?

So what are my options for exhaust (muffler) on the six using headers? Has anyone grafted the mega-phone ends onto a 2in/2out muffler? I know it's only aesthetics at that point but It would add a certain vintage appeal.

ka-BOING!
Jeroen, does that muffler have a regular outlet too, so you can cap the megaphone outlets for street use? |

that setup looks to be for a taildragger.
I don't see the point of it either, if you like the look, you'll never see it here....you'll see the muffler. In that case just get or make a sport muffler, they sound very nice. |

there are "street adapters" that will extend and reposition the header outlets so you can use a standard muffler. i have a pair, somewhere (not for sale, but i could probably arrange some photographs...) i think GT Racing sells some too. i have a pair of old megaphones - was on the verge of clearancing them out until i decided to move east - where we have real race tracks where you can use real open exhaust; can't wait to bolt 'em to the 911 ! |

Here's a six muffler, stainless steel, that will bolt up to the 914-6 headers.
