hello,
I have a Renagade sbc conversion with their IMI starter. Had it for several years with this intermittant problem. Some times it seems that the starter will not respond. If i rock the car in gear it will free up the starter and all is good. I remember somthing about shimming the starter but cant find anything by searching. Any ideas? Thanks David |

For those that had a problem with the Bendix gear mesh with the flywheel, it was determined that an 0.060" shim would fix the problem.
The one supplied by HiPerformanceUSA (eBay) is 0.125" thick. These were supplied for Porsche. For a Chevy, I have no idea. |
