QUOTE (Mueller @ Jan 29 2005, 09:06 PM)
I'd make things right...someones job on the other end could be hanging on the line after an expensive mistake like that (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif)

Well I would hope they wouldn't lose their job unless of course they did things like this frequently. Unless it was an inexperienced person they should have known when they grabbed the box that they were not 914 plug wires. I knew as soon as I opened the big box that all the parts were in and saw the plug wire box. And it was not mislabled, said 968 Carrera 2+4 right on the box.

Can't wait til Monday morning, should be a fun call. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/happy11.gif)

Did you check your credit card? When they realize they sent you the wrong parts they may just decide to spank your card for the difference. Call them and tell them they owe you big time for discovering the mistake and ship them back.

Upadate-

Talk to Travis the customer service guy at PP, yes that's who it is, and he wasn't really apologetic. To his credit he may not have realized the value of the wires that I got. He did agree to ship some additional hoses overnight with the correct ignition wires for free with a return label for the others. He said he wouldn't be able to ship the gallon of swepco overnight for free.

What kind of gets me is the fact that he said they had to charge me for the wires again even though it was their f-up. Of course they will credit me when the other wires get there. Big deal, with that attitude I should just take the $25 hit and sell the others, but of course I'm to honest of a guy for that.

What happen to lets make the customer happy?

Heh. Figures, you do the right thing and it's like it is hassling them, instead of praising.

Well done!

your honesty will pay back some day. Now you will sleep well with peace of mind.
I figure you did the right thing. I`m too supersticious, I couldn`t have used the money from the sale to buy other^parts for my car, I would have been afraid they`d break upon installation or quit during a trip.
Honesty is well worth more than $$$

Ask Saddam !!!

God bless

Everybody wants something for nothing and when it happens it is great but lets look at this from another perspective. The guys who supply us are keeping our cars alive. They may seem like jerks once in a while but what they are doing DOESN'T make business sense. How many 914s is Porsche going to make this year? Zero. How many 914s are going to be crushed this year? I can't answer that but quite a few. So the customer base they deal with is getting smaller and smaller. When we look at it from that point of view we are lucky they even carry anything for us orphans to begin with.
I say send it back and consider yourself lucky that these suppliers are two parts enthusiast and one part businessman.
Just another point of view. Nomex on!

Sorry man I disagree with ya. It's a business and they are in it to make money. Sure they are enthusiests but they are not supplying parts just because they are trying to help us out, they are making money doing it.

If it didn't make business sense they wouldn't do it. Bottom line. (pun intended)

Thanks for listening.

Not taking into consideration the model numbers, you ordered 4 wires and received 12. Sounds like you may have received the lifetime supply package!

Sounds like you did the right thing. No need for 8 extra wires laying around.

This reminds me, I've had some parts on back order with them for over 3 months, and no word yet. I've found their service to be dropping a bit. I'll have to give them a call this afternoon.

Bet they say they tried to call (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/bs.gif)

Then Wayne will probably ask Eli to check into it, and will forward a note from Eli to him to you in which Eli refers to you as "This Guy" in a derogitory manner. Hey Eli (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif)

But that's all just a guess... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

I swear, if any place better ever opens they are in trouble...
