After reading the section on the engine management system, I don't see any difference between theirs and everybody else's. It's just Motronic under another name.

I like the idea but why to front/back seating? Widen that bitch out and get it side by side. It looks too weird for me. Kind of like a malformed egg.
I'd rather have a Alien style fat tired hot rod Morgan type 3 wheeler. Twisted up engine mounted in the front side by side an a vintage styling. Modern F.I., slick vintage color paint and chrome. But that's just me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Well,
If we are going to go there, this is something I would really like to have, with a hayabusa motor (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Attached image(s) |

The most "high-tech" thing is that it's DBW with variable valve timing which is cool from an efficiency standpoint but yesterday's news compared to BMW's Valvetronic which takes the whole reducing pumping losses through the throttle body by changing valve timing to a new level. I do like the idea of the car though... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

I like the idea but why to front/back seating? To cut down on frontal area. Lower drag that way, which helps efficiency. And this is supposed to be all about efficiency. I've been paying a bit of attention to them for four or five years now. I'm still thinking it's vaporware. --DD |

I get the impression Elio is trying to figure out car manufacturing as he goes along. That page is full of hot air and filler.
This has all the makings of another Delorean but at least he was smart enough to use some off the shelf components so maintenance and replacement parts were easy to get. That's assuming Elio ever deems it "good enough". Now he's making a new engine, which will have to be certified, so another 2 years out. |
