I made it to a couple more events this year because I planned ahead (Amelia Island, Rennsport), so I thought I'd post this again for 2016. I've archived the 2015 list in a post below.
So... aside from small events like Cars & Coffee, D&Gs, and local car shows, what are the big events that you try to make every year, or you think someone should go to at least once? Here is my list for next year. Maybe I'll make half of them. 1/23/2016 -> 1/31/2016 Scottsdale car auctions 1/29/2016 -> 1/31/2016 Pomona Grand National hot rod show 3/5/2016 - LA Literature & Memorabilia Show at LAX 3/6/2016 - So Cal All-Porsche Swap and Car Display (Anaheim) 3/11/2016 -> 3/13/2016 Amelia Island Concours 3/12/2016 -> 3/13/2016 RCX RC Expo in Costa Mesa (Orange County) 3/17/2016 -> 3/20/2016 - Retro Classics (Stuttgart, Germany) 4/1/2015 -> 4/3/2016 Goodguys Del Mar Nationals (Del Mar Fairgrounds) 4/8/2016 -> 4/10/2016 California Festival of Speed (Fontana, CA) 5/?/2016 -> 5/?/2016 914 WCR (White City Oregon) 5/27/2016 -> 5/29/2016 http://www.914-siegerland.de/ 8/15/2016 -> 8/21/2016 Monterey car show week 8/20/2016 Woodward Dream Cruise (Detroit) 9/9/2016 -> 9/11/2016 Goodwood Revival (London/Chichester) 9/16/2016 -> 9/18/2016 Coronado Speed Festival 10/23/2015 Formula 1 Austin 11/1/2015 -> 11/4/2015 SEMA (Las Vegas) -Steve |

This year I plan to hit the Rennsport reunion and a concours in Arizona (I forget the name). I would like to get back to the Goodwood Revival if time permits. Goodwood should be on every cars guys list. Best car time I have ever had. The parking lots have better and more interesting cars than any car show I have ever been to. Fly to London, play around there for a couple days (awesome) and then head down to Chichester, seeing every thing you can inbetween (you must see the Beaulieu Museum (http://www.beaulieu.co.uk/) and the Naval Yards). End with the revival - which is simply awesome - and it just doesnt get any better.
I will attend probably two local shows, but I wont bring any cars. Not worth the hassle. It's more fun just go see pals and walk around looking at stuff. Maybe PBeach - scheduling in my little world is just so brutal anymore as the girls get older. My main goal this is year is to actually DRIVE more! |
