Was the center console available in '72? I am considering adding one to my car and am wondering how I would wire it in if it was not an option in that year, because the wiring would not already be there.

For wiring, pull up the carpet on the center Tunney at the shifter.
Should be a multi prong plastic plug, or I think more than one.
They are tucked into the tunnel grooves with the other wiring.

Those are for the center console gauges.

Clock is just wired to the fuse box.

A 72 does not have the center console wiring. 73-76 only.

That center console is available already built from a couple sources, far easier than custom building it.
