Dave,

I really like your twist on my design... especially the 914 World placement.
Now we just need to come up with the saying for the upper text.

Anything gold with red is going to resemble the old badge a bit. Three things have to be present: a "world" reference, the name and a 914 reference.

Jack stands, tools, and silly captions disrespect the car and make it a clown car.

Put it on chrome and change the red to another color. Will it still be like the old design?

The old one was a knockoff of the Porsche badges. These are 3", there is only so much that can be done and get the message across.

Has to be a simple design; remember where it will be made. Quality ain't that great. Look close at Porsche and Cities badges....letters are not aligned, outlines are not smooth.

The busier the design the crappier the quality. Talking stamped badged here not stickers.

Without being disrespectful to you (hopefully), I do think your latest designs resemble too closely the old 914 Club badge. I think if you change some of the details, it would benefit your design and keep it from looking too much like a copy cat.

Also, just wondering what others think of using "Vereinsmitglied" ... does it make sense to use that on a badge representing an English language site? I might be overthinking it ...

No offense taken. That design is a "badge" version of what Andy had put up.

This version here is possible. The car graphic would have to have to be modified. A badge is a mold with hills and valleys. The valleys get painted; the hills are polished off and show gold or chrome.

The car graphic would need to be modified to accommodate the badge approach. You will loose a lot of the detail. Can be done. ...that's why a silhouette works really well here.

I sort of agree about the Member vs. Verens......
