I'm in the beginning steps of redoing my car. I have a boxster 6 speed and adapter plate(s)and flywheel and flex plate.. I was considering a built ls1, but now I'm leaning towards a turbo 4.8.
I know that there are probably not a lot of turbo 914's out there, but the ones that are, where did those guys mount their intercoolers? I don't really want to do the water to air thing. If I decide to do twins, I thought about scoops on the quarter panels, and one small intercooler on each side. Or If I do a single turbo, 1 large intercooler in the rear trunk with a hole cut into the lid, then another hole out of the rear of the car between the tail lights. But I'm looking for ideas/ inspiration. |

My current intercooler is in the engine bay. Which means it has to be small and its not getting cold air. My next intercooler will be water to air. It's the only setup that makes sense to me.

I like water to air intercoolers, but my issues is strange. This car had a serious electrolysis problem. I just don't want to get a water to air cooler and have it leak and destroy my engine. Solved the electrolysis problem but it still worries me. |
