Since you are at the last design step, I'll add my two cents. I am totally OCD over these kinds of things so please don't take this as criticism in any way. This is a great design.
I think with a few adjustments the car can look a little closer to the original. - Front and rear ends a little stubbier, car too long. - Add vent window - Raise window sill line - Shorten space between A pillar and targa - Enlarge width of targa bar - Curve the front fender line Here is a quick and dirty. |

The layout has been finalized, short of a f up on my side I really don't want to get into modifying a design that was voted on. Some items are also subjective, if I start messing with it too much, I've changed it.
Some items like adding a vent window, really will not show up well or may look disproportionate as we do loose some fine detail. I do appreciate the feedback, Mark |

The design that was voted on was on condition of several changes. The 'voted on' artwork is illegal and you need to let go if it.
1. removal of my 914turbo car logo. The spoiler was only 1 of the 2 unique elements, the windshield without the glass support is the second. You are however uninhibited from using the car in the dwg file I sent you as it's a generic outline from the blueprint file. 2. The 'voted' on artwork does not have the outline on 914 WORLD. Since you filled in the letters from the wrong artwork it looks fat. 3. It's my creative property and you don't get to do whatever you want with it. Specially since you just tied it to a commercial endeavor. 4. I would love to see my design produced, but it is on the condition that it uses approved artwork. |

I, too, like this black design and think it would look good on my white '73. Would be interested in this one getting produced. M.i.M. |

Hey Chris, Why don't you identify by number how many of the designs in the voting section are yours. If it's really that big of a deal maybe we should just pull them and revote. Or actually the final design is similar but changed enough to "not be yours anymore" It's just a badge. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) There were several suggestions and changes throughout the design process. If you did want to contribute to the badge thing then why did you? Maybe your just joking around. If that's the case disregard the above. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) You can use my Alien head if you want. I have added the thin line to show the vent window. It this point it should be s significant enough change to satisfy your requirements. Actually, the artwork that was submitted was solely to be used at the discretion of the admins. Since this is their gig. Anything submitted becomes property of 914world, as it it the "non" entity that has the say on how this comes together, and what is used or not used. If we needed 10 paragraphs about how the submissions are the property of 914world and can be used at their discretion, you are missing the point here. Andy set this place up so that guys that love these cars can share information, and love of these cars. It's a labor of love, and to get problems solved. The last thing we need to do is make this a hassle for him. Yes I am a commercial venture, I had hoped to use my distribution and labor to make these inexpensively, and distribute using my order and tracking system that is already in place. Anyone that has done GB's can tell you the organization, ability to, pack ,ship and track, are a challenge. The DWG file I found was not executable in auto cad, so this is the best I can do. |

If it's really that big of a deal maybe we should just pull them and revote. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) The last thing we need is to do a production run of something and THEN have an intellectual property battle. Purge ALL of his designs and start over with the agreement that there will be NO "condition that it uses approved artwork"! In fact I like that one so much, I will make my own. A guy at work makes concert pins for the grateful dead. He says he can have a run of just a dozen lapel pins or badges for about $100 |

I, as a contributor and the prickler who brought up the whole badge thing a few months ago when i tried this on another thread...I add two more cents.
I expect and assumed that any submission here (if picked) would be for the sole use by the admins of the World to use for the purpose of a badge. Whatever design was picked would be "owned" by the World. A gift. No conditions; to me this is obvious. These designs are not available to anyone who wants to make their own. In any business...you don't submit a final product pending conditions; especially on a visual design where any little change can change the whole look of the thing. Finalize the design then submit it. Hell were voting on it...can't say "Here this is it but change this and that". What will it look like then? If you don't want it used; don't show it...period. Wastes energy and time. Personally I like the overall badge design but I do not like the rendering of the car. It doesn't look right or proportional. And to me it will be enough of a deterrent to keep me from buying one; i won't want it on my car unless it looks right. These badges aren't high end items as it is; the design has a major impact on the final product. If you look close at the PORSCHE crest badges floating around, the letters are all crooked.... |

To be fair,
Once the artwork is posted. I'll post another thread for yes / no on final approval. If there's more than a 40% no, it should be a revote. I was hoping to wrap these up and be in production by now, but sometimes thing don't work out as quickly. |

Specially since you just tied it to a commercial endeavor. ... I would love to buy a badge... But not if this guy is involved in any form whatsoever... And this is coming from one artist to another. Sorry for my rant, but man, this one design will not make anyone rich, so lighten up Francis! |

Get over it. There's no intent to make money. Stop being an sob over design. This is a fun project cause I love my car and it'll dress it up. Move on and let's get this done. Hang together on this and kiss and make up. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bootyshake.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bootyshake.gif) |
