Hey,
I hope we can work this out and make these. I just want it to be clear that the design he is submitting can be used and that there are no issues. So I await the artwork. to be presented in this forum in Jpeg. As far as colors go, gold, white and the red and yellow colors to match the German flag. We have that figured out in the panatone color chart. I think we can make this work. Often, when you read something it can sound like the other person is coming off like a dick. But if you have a conversation it's not the case. Things can be worded badly, and inflections that were not intended can be inferred. So lets' just give him the benefit of the doubt. |

Just awaiting a jpeg submittal to proceed on this. Actually, a JPG is probably bad since it's a loss compression and tends to blur out lines and edges. For this, a PNG, TGA or even a BMP would be better (they are lossless), as long as they are in the correct size and don't have to be scaled to fit the badge. I'm surprised the company making those badges can't utilize Photoshop files ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) |

They can. Only the last files I received I couldn't open. They were DXF and should open with Autocad, but they wouldn't open. I wanted the graphic posted so that 1 we could make sure everyone was still on board, and 2 make it clear that the artwork was submitted for our use here, leaving no question as to if it needed something added or taken out.

So just for a dat point, I asked my co-worker for a quote on manufacturing badges of this type.
Here is his response: These would be pretty much the highest quality badges. I wasn’t sure what size to use, but my factory said that most are either 3” or 3.5”, so I got quotes for both. Just let me know if you decide you want to place an order, or if there are any questions I can answer for you. Cloisonné Grille Badges in a 3 inch with up to 4 colors and 2 studs on the back 25 - $30.00 each 50 - $20.00 each 100 - $15.00 each Cloisonné Grille Badges in a 3.5 inch with up to 4 colors and 2 studs on the back 25 - $33.00 each 50 - $23.00 each 100 - $18.00 each So as you can see they are willing to do small production runs of as little as 25. I think the 100 number is a reasonable run and would probebly sell out @$20 ea. This guy makes lapel pins for concerts like the Grateful Dead and has them manufactured in China. I have no interest in trying to make any $$ on the side or being the middleman. If anyone wants to speak with this person shoot me a PM. |

thanks for your effort, Scott (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

Just wondering. . .will there still be gold edging around the letters and in the globe, or is that not possible?
It looks great like it is, though. |

I don't know what to say... I had a nice Holiday vacation (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
My submission was a concept that I was under the impression I would have time to refine, as is the case with any artwork intended for manufacture. Given the quality of other submissions this is quite reasonable to assume. What was taken by Mark for the vote was never meant to be the final artwork. My problem is Mark's resistance to allow changes to be made, plus his insane rush to jump into production. I said what I needed to -- to put the brakes on. I am only demanding the opportunity to refine the concept, make changes based on feedback, and let the membership agree it's the best it can be. As far as Mark goes, today's pm was a sign of the cooperation I was expecting, so I'm glad I didn't post yesterdays true feelings. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) I did state that changes had to be made... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/lh3.googleusercontent.com-431-1421028865.1.jpg) |

Thanks,
I do things pretty fast if I can. The intent is a complete concept, otherwise the vote means nothing. I may not have been completely clear. So I started the Final thread, so that everything should be at a level playing field. I thank all that have submitted and ask that all submissions be included in the final thread. Thanks Mark Here's the thread. http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=247991 |

Could I suggest ...
Admins delete this thread and temporarily pin the new thread to the top and have a final art submit date posted. I'm past ready as you are to move forward on this. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) |

thanks mark for putting this together - i sense impatience from some here - i want to stress the time and efforts it takes to get this done, and how it appears (to me) that none of these delays are mark's fault - rather, the selfish and entitled issues created by the creator of the winning design appear to have caused all of this trouble (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hissyfit.gif) - and i say that while also thanking him (sincerely), and all others who contributed to the designs - if i were the benevolent dictator here, i would have simply moved to the #2 voted design, and proceeded - please remember, these (we) are volunteers - no one is making even part of a decent pay check on this - and i'll take 2 when they're done - thanks again, brad in seattle

I have no interest in the previous winning design or any updates to that design but I'll buy a couple of the next winner whoever that is.
