My wife and I are driving down from Atlanta Friday and staying with my uncle in Jacksonville and then all three of us are coming to the Cars and Coffee. I'm still thinking about attending the concours. Should be great!

Where in Jacksonville are you staying? what part of town? Are you going to join us for the drive up on Saturday?

I'll be there. I'm part of a group of 12 from Chicago Region of PCA heading down, but only 2 of us are 914 owners. Unfortunately, we'll all be flying down. However, I will be sure to stop by all of your cars on Saturday and say hello.

I'm coming in from Atlanta driving my 914. Are there suggestions for hotels that are still available? Is there a local contact person? Thanks.

Flight has been purchased, hotel is booked! Should be fun!

> To all going....Buy your tickets in advance. Trust me, you do NOT want to stand in that line Sunday morning

Done!

> Steve, are you planning on renting a car? You should ride with one of us!

Hmmm... I'm not sure! My brother and I are both coming, and we are currently planning on renting a car. But I do want to try and make as many 914 specific events as possible.

My rough schedule so far is below. What am I missing? Any other key 914 events planned? The drive Saturday morning is too early for me, plus we will already be staying on Amelia Island.

Fri
5:55pm - arrive JAX
7:00pm - 914world get together. Ovinte 10208 Buckhead Branch Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32246

Sat
9:00am-1:00pm - Concours d'Elegance Cars and Coffee @ Golf Course at The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island
11:00am-4:00pm - RM Auction (need to be registered)
8:00am-6:00pm MotoXpo - first hole of the Golf Club of Amelia Island
any 914world evening events?

Sun
9:30am-4:00pm Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance (The Golf Club of Amelia Island)
any 914world afternoon/evening events?

Mon
3:42pm - depart JAX

And for all those east coast people that I've never met, here are my two 914s and build threads (orange car build should be resuming shortly...)

Signal Orange 3.6:

Irish Green 914-6:

I think we're at the Hampton Inn by the Jacksonville Airport. Everything on Amelia Island was already booked up when we decided to get out of Chicago's winter for a long weekend.

If I understand the instructions correctly, it seems that general parking is at the Amelia Island Municipal Airport for spectators with shuttles to take people to the event sites.

Counting down the days!

Considering driving up from Tampa. Hard to turn down the opportunity since i'm so close. In the Jeep since the car is in IL. It's about 4 hours driving, so depends on when I can get away from work. None of the other guys I've talked to from here are planning on coming up. If anyone is going from Tampa and would like to ride together, I'm all for it. If a few people are planning to stay in the same place, I'd prefer to do that vs. just finding a place.

I'll bring a bottle of decent scotch.

I'm driving my 914 (silver '75) from Atlanta. Should be in around 5P depending on traffic. Also staying at the Hampton Inn JAX airport. Can give one person a lift on Saturday to the Cars & Coffee.

Not to throw any sand on Sat afternoon's party, but you can see all the cars in the RM auction by walking up the back stairs to the garage roof. That's where they stage the cars going into the auction and where they park them after their time on the block.

Hey Lincolnman! In the beginning of the thread I posted a handful of hotels right on Baymeadows in Jacksonville where the drive will begin (between my house and where we are having breakfast). They will not be sold out because they are not on Amelia. Rates are good and the hotels are nice. Check 'em out and hope you join up with us for the drive!

FYI - Today is the LAST DAY you can purchase your tickets for the Sunday Concours event for $80. After today they will be $100.

Remember, the Saturday Cars and Coffee at the Concours (the day for the 914 drive) is a free event.

Already made reservations elsewhere. Can you tell me where the meet up point will be? I plan to be at Ovintes on Friday night, so we could handle directions there I think. What is the plan for parking on Saturday morning. This is a pre-register only and I'm not in that group. Do we start our own cruise-in or what?

QUOTE(scotty b @ Mar 4 2015, 10:03 AM) *

Saturday evening :

Eric and I had been talking about an east coast beach party, but I can't find one way or the other whether Fernandina beach will allow it, so the backup plan is to get together at the condo we're staying in. Time wise I'd say around 7:00 unless there are objections. That gives everyone time to do their daily activities, and grab something substantial to eat

Address is:

524 A North Fletcher Ave
Fernandina Beach FL

In addition, if people want to get together for dinner in the Historic district prior there are quite a few really nice restaurants. If enough people want to, we could pick one and make reservations as they tend to be filled up.

Actually Eric and I were talking yesterday about this. He asked me to organize the East Coast Beach Party that Saturday after the Cars and Coffee to accommodate the film he is doing due to the plans I had already made for it and how it will tie into his "coast to coast" theme for the film. It will take place at Jacksonville Beach and I will start a new thread dedicated to it with some pics as well as details.
