just got this email from stoddard - pretty cool - nice holiday gift - no affiliation:
http://www.nlaparts.com/store/schuco-porsc...28rmgd92ikn5l20 Porsche supplied twenty special 914's to the North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) police for autobahn patrol in 1971. All were white with the usual green Polizei paint markings and communication equipment. The NRW Polizei 914's were the only Porsche cars supplied to either the German or Dutch police. I don't think that's true. Here's a picture of a 914 in the Netherlands. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) From DGVWPB: "Until 1974 the NRW police 914s were painted in plain white, after that, they were repainted in the typical police white/green colors." "With the arrival of the more powerful 2.0L, the whole NRW fleet of 1.7L cars was replaced with newer 2.0L cars." "The rear springs were replaced with heavier 914-6 springs to increase the carry capacity of the cars." "The last NRW police 914 was retired in 1979." (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) |

The Dutch car is a six, too. A 1.7 could be easily out-run?

A 1.7 could be easily out-run? No high speed chases in Europe. They'll let you go and setup roadblocks ahead. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) |

The point was that NRW is a state in Germany and your initial post stated that no other 914 police cars were in service. However, there were several of them in service in the Netherlands and if i'm not mistaken in Belgium as well. Both of which are not the same as Germany. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) |
