I have my Karmann Ghia for sale and the response has thus far been stellar. Why? I recently read where Ferg mentioned the importance of pic's when selling a car. Lot's and lot's of pic's. If you want your car to appeal to serious buyers then give them some serious gallery from which to make an informed decision. Every car has it's areas of concerns and these areas need to be addressed in your pic's; in full! Informed buyers know these areas and will wonder why they were deleted if not included. Example: a 914 seller not showing pic's of the Hell Hole. Another thing, take detailed pic's of any faults. If your honest about the faults it shows integrity and reinforces the buyers will to purchase your car. Anyway, just wanted to reaffirm Ferg's policy. It works! I couldn't agree more. Whenever I sell a car I always include a link to a photobucket album with anywhere from 80-100 photos of every aspect of the car, along with a very detailed description.
It's a weird thing. I think there's people out there who think cars just sell themselves, or something. I don't know. If you're going to ask someone to consider handing over thousands of dollars for something you're selling...then sell the damn thing! Two or three quickly snapped photos, and a description that says "too many things to list" isn't going to do it. Also, "too many things to list" is the biggest pile of shit lazy crap to put in a car listing. Take five minutes and type out what the car has/has been done to it. Otherwise don't expect me to inquire about your listing. BTW, where's the listing for the Ghia? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I'm a sucker for those things, they sure are pretty to look at! |

Here you go. eBay only allows about 16 pic's so I've emailed about 40 more to interested buyers showing pans, jack points, bumper attach points, nose bondo..................the usual concerns. No ones asked about the head light buckets but their cherry too. Anyway it's gone in another few hours.

A low light, maybe a 58, and that vert will fetch north of 15K. 1966? Somebody got a freakin' good deal. Yes they did! But it's all good and it was time. It's going to Scottsdale. I had a Brit and a New Yorker that were interested and I feared the worst (rust). I had hoped it would stay in a dry climate. Never, ever wrecked. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Very pretty car Kent. Thx Chris. This was the one that stared the Madness. I had just begun another plane when my wife's desire that I quit flying ( Geez, one little plane crash and I wasn't even the PIC) outweighed my desire to fly. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) She was more comfortable with my feet on the ground and I with air cooled engines so I found this thing in a storage container in NoCal and you know the rest. Now for the rest of the story. I picked up a pair of Home audio speakers for Wills (Movequick) who was planning on driving out here to pick them up. Maybe the new owner can haul the speakers back to Mike. They're both realtors so I would imagine there will be a 6% fee attached. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) |

Congrats on the sale!!!!
My first car was a Ghia out of high school . Always had at least 1 Ghia. The lowlight is a 58 . Good eye. The black convertible is a 1965 . Owned since 1995. Ground up restoration . A Porsche speedster is out of my league . This is my alternate (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/images.thesamba.com-16628-1419090333.1.jpg) |
