I've got a pair of 2.0L 3 bolt head cores, complete with valves. I just took them off my engine that had been sitting for around 10 years, but they look to be in good, rebuildable shape. A few exhaust studs came out when I took the engine apart, but all the threads look to be good, and I don't see any cracks anywhere. 2 cooling tin screws had to be ground off, as they were seized, but I think that can be easily repaired. There is a small nick on one of the intakes, but it is outside of the outer stud, so I don't see it affecting anything.
