Traffic?
A brief comparison shows that there were 39 new/responded to threads here since yesterday The same number puts the club back to pre Holloween... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) No offense to those who still post there, but if you'd like to see a typical question/response, look at RocketDogs post a few down from the top... nothin' but (IMG:style_emoticons/default/locust.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/locust.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/locust.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/locust.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) |

I tried to search for it, but, couldn't find anything. Can someone point me to a link to the 914club vs. 914world story. I am not familiar with it. Or PM me the three sentence short story. Also, clubnarp.com? Competing site? Why all the separate sites?

Well, there were actually two steps to the story. First was that 914Club was started by a couple of guys, one 914 technical, the other computer technical, both who loved the cars. Went for a while, prospered, then about ten years ago there were differences of opinion and the two went their separate ways. One kept 914Club, the other started 914World, both starting with all the posts and files that existed up till they split, so each being more or less identical in the beginning. Both have evolved since. ClubNARP began when the split first occurred, offering all the wandering and confused folks a safe haven between the two directions that Club and World seemed to be taking.
Second step in the story was what, five or so years ago, when the owner of Auto Atlanta bought the Club site, at which point their activity really began to nose over. Both Club and World have continued to evolve since, to be what you see today. Names all changed... for no particular reason. |

Or PM me the three sentence short story. Once there was one site. Then a clusterfuck happened. Now there is two sites. The end Mark. You Canadian's sure know how to explain things. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif) Tom |

as soon as I log onto 914-Club the screen blinks on & off forever & it will not allow me to post a message. Try all the standard things ... clear your cache, malware bytes anti-malware, etc. Thanks will do. I only have the blinking screen when I click on the Forum?? All the other settings classified, garage, etc. work. BTW: A friend of Geo said my forum issue will be fixed Monday. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif) All is good. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) I am going to ask if George will offer everyone a 10% discount on any order over $100.00 bucks to appease my suffering before the end of the year. I guess I've been banned??? Wonder why??? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Anybody else been banned?? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) Tom I would never ban you Tom! Paul Hey guys, All I wanted to do was place an order for a new Repo (China) Dash to replace my NOS one. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stirthepot.gif) I am not starting trouble. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) I really like AA. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) Tom The dash thread was the last one I read or responded to and that was almost two years ago. Still no dashes from AA. In looking at the post today it looks like they're now just covering the foam cores they made (the easy part of the process) with vinyl and are gluing it on. From my automotive materials science experience I don't see that ending well. It might hold up for a bit, but those two materials (the foam in the core and the vinyl top) expand and contract at different rates and the materials are going to separate. Most likely place? Those areas on the backside of the instrument hood where you have those tight radii. There is a reason why the factory did it the way they did (and most manufacturers still do). |
