It seems that I only see the aluminum door trim on the yearly 914s and the black plastic on late (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) or, is the difference due to appearance package?

I know all 75-76 have the plastic. Not sure on the early appearance group, but my recollection is its year specific. I believe a cost cutting measure.

My 73 has plastic. It was only aluminum on the first years cars, and not dependent if appearance package.

Door thresholds changed from aluminum to plastic somewhere in the middle of the 1973 model year.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) I have two 73 parts cars here and they have aluminum thresholds.

Thanks all, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
My 73 has plastic, and I was thinking of replacing them with the aluminum. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) IMHO they look nicer.
