This comes directly from one of the yahoogroups that I monitor.

At the same time, it's quite UNbelievable & Believable ALL at the same time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

"Anyone out there interested in some steel flares?
I thought that I was on a waiting list from Auto Atlanta, but when I call to
check on them I wasn't on there list to get the flares at the intro price of $650.

But he said that he would sell them to me for that price if I bought three sets.

So I need to see if anyone would be interested. It will save $300 a set".

As Steve Austin likes to say: WHAT?!

That shows me what the markup must be.

Even at 650, they're still making money.

Ohhhhh, George. What are we gonna do with you?? :finger2:

I have ran my hands over them. They are pretty good.. not great. But pretty good. They have a "wrinkle" in them on the transition from flare to fender just in front of the tail lights. It will give body shops HELL. But... they will work. The price is right even at 950$

It sounds like Wayne was working with him at 500$ a set...

I see nothing wrong or funny with that deal, the discount is quite steep for only 3 sets (32% discount), but I think he'd rather sell 3 at a less margin than only 1 or none to this person at the 950 price.

Group buy....more power to him (buyer and seller)

Why is it a crime to make money when NO ONE else stepped up to the plate to supply flares to those that wanted them?
I'm not sure what his ROI is, but he's not going to break even soon unless he is selling a few sets everyday. Now how he might be making money is if he makes Wayne @ PP buy XX amount of flares out right instead of 1 or 2 or only when PP gets an order.

and what is wrong with that? I'd go wider than 5.5" rims, but nothing wrong with 4 lug setups....it's good to be different and run something other than everyday 5 lug Fuchs (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Why yes I did, some a-hole in a Nissan cut us off while merging from two lanes into one.....clearly i had the right of way (fast lane and he speed up on the inside)
Luckly I wasn't driving my truck or I would have parked him into the guard rail (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif)

Must be the weather (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Oh, by the way.......it's Sherryl damn it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif)

"Every day 5-lug Fuchs". That's funny. You California boys must be swimming in a sea of 914's. Besides my own, I've only seen one other 914 THIS YEAR. 5-lug cars? I've got the only one in the 3 surounding counties that I'm aware of (2 or 3 over in Yakima, but that's an hour away).

Heh..... I must agree..... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I think we have about 20 914s here in Finland. Half of them are not running. Mine is only legal 3.0 conversion, but I know couple of others. One with 3.6.

I don't think the original message was an *offer* from AA.
Like IF you'll buy 2 more sets, we'll give you a discount.

It was more like, "no, you're lying mr customer, you didn't have a
deposit with us. IF you want our 'super-duper' flares at THat price,
you'll need to buy 3 sets of them".

Does no one Not see that?

Andrew: yeah I am thinking of doing some flares, see the Green car here:
http://www.ultimate914.com/MOTORSPORTS_WE/...DARD_BODYx.html
3rd car in the 3rd row.

4-lug with flares: I've had my 914 fuchs widened to 7-inches, so they
should look just fine with the flares.

Road Rage: OH HELL YEAH! Everyday for me, why, not everyone else? lol

Wife's Names: What's wrong with "brad's wife" or "Mueller's wife"?

Naaah, Wayne was considering making his own at ~$500/set for those who ordered up-front. There was not enough firm interest to continue that past the "what-if" stage, though. And now that George finally has his flares done, I think the potential market is even smaller.

BTW, Pelican now has AA's flares for only $900, $50 less than AA charges...
